This was supposed to be the smallest wedding I had ever attended: 14 people invited, me included. :)
But it turned out to be even smaller than that. COVID affected about half of the guests just a few days before the event.
I stayed in touch with Melanie the whole time, and one thing remained constant: her smile and optimism.
And then I met Stijn.
Stijn is such a warm person — a little bit “un-Dutch”, as I got to know them. :) Together they make a wonderful couple. Everything they do seems to come from a place of love, and you can feel it in the way they look at each other and in the way they move through the day together.
I adored every minute of it. Full of heart, full of emotion, full of love. Simple, elegant, and truly amazing.
I must admit I could not have dreamed of a better day for me as a photographer in Amsterdam.
Thank you, Melanie and Stijn, for trusting me with your memories and for making me a part of your wedding. The whole time you made me feel like a close friend with a camera attending a very intimate and beautiful celebration. This feeling… I’ll never forget.
